The difficult aspect is that you maybe have someone close to you saying "Is that ever going to work?" or "Should you keep spending your time with that?"

Track everything! If you were dumping water into a long tube, except it wasn't coming through the other end, what's the first thing you would do? Probably check for holes right? In your marketing efforts, you absolutely need to know what's working and what isn't, and then you can fix it.
Using a simple service like Hypertracker ($20/ month with a 14 day free trial to start) you may track your total traffic, what percent become leads, plus how many leads turn into sales. Then, if your conversions are really low, you can go back to the pages in your funnel, tweak something, and then track the results again.
Hypertracker is very easy to install, and they teach you exactly in what way to accomplish it. It's been one of the more valuable tools for my biz.
Network Marketing Tips #2:
Paid advertising. I know, I know, it's not exactly a revelation that paid advertising functions faster than free advertising. I do desire to say that a great deal of marketers have a prejudice against advertising on the grounds that they hear stories about Google Pay-Per-Click and people using thousands of dollars.
There are strategies that are inexpensive, yet produce great results. My personal favorite is Facebook PPC. If you're worried about cost, you can set a daily limit as low as $5. I furthermore like Ezine advertising, where you take out an ad in newsletters that other network marketers send out. Some are expensive, however you don't have to look too hard to find some for less than $50.
Network Marketing Tips #3:
Email your list every single day. This is my preferred of the network marketing tips! Marketers are afraid that their list will detest them for emailing every single day. First of all, you're not sending out a 2,000 word sales letter selling something every day. You just provide beneficial information, throw in a story or two and possibly a great analogy, and then you may put in a link or two. Of course people will still unsubscribe, but they were the ones who weren't going to stick it out with you in the first place.
One of the more powerful form of marketing is "top of mind awareness". Have you ever wondered why McDonalds' or Coca-Cola advertise so much even though everybody already knows who they are? It's so that if you're thirsty, you think of Coke. If you're hungry the first thing you think of is that McDonald's billboard you just saw. You can stay on the top of the minds of your propsects by emailing consistently.
